An angry biker at a crossroads. A woman in search of a fresh start.
Lisa Wenhold's business partner stole everything. Her dreams of opening her own business are ripped away when she learns the debt he owes to a local motorcycle club now falls to her. With her brother being a member of a rival club, going to him would start a war between the two MCs. She thinks she has a solution, until a sexy biker with a surly disposition saunters into her life...

Rage has never met a woman as feisty, proud, and determined as Lisa. Nor has he ever fought this hard against such a fierce attraction. Even so, resistance is crucial considering she's the sister to one of his biker brothers. He's instructed to protect her, and he'll honor his word. But things are getting harder by the day...

Falling into bed together is unexpected, in the best way imaginable.

Falling for one another absolutely cannot happen.

That's doable, right?

Not a chance.

My stomach sank with dread. "Am I wasting my time then? It sounds like I should quit."

"You shouldn't quit. And you damn sure don't owe any of them money."

I looked up at the ceiling while I took a deep breath.

Rage stepped toward me. "Why would you quit now?"

As I lowered my chin, it was all I could do to keep my mouth from falling open. "Seriously? Why should I keep going?"

His tone turned hard... or harder than normal. "What's changed? Not a damn thing, from where I'm standing."

I pulled a skeptical face.

His hands turned out. "How is that table any 'less' than what you could have done with where I'm standing."

I pulled a skeptical face.

His hands turned out. "How is that table any 'less' than what you could have done with your grandfather's tools?"

My mouth opened and closed before I exhaled hard.

"Right. It isn't. I know you think it is, but that's your opinion. And you know something about opinions?"

"They're like assholes because everyone has one?"

He chuckled. "Yeah, but no. Only you know your opinion. Not one person who lays eyes on that table is going to know it was made with tools that didn't come down the family line. Nobody is going to ask about that. Nobody is going think less of your work because of it. The only person who has that opinion is you, Lisa."

"Stop making sense when I don't want to hear a word of it."

He laughed. "That's a fuckin' first."

I rolled my eyes and then looked at him. "What's that?"

His grin almost made me grin.

The smile I aimed his way was half-hearted. "Don't get cocky."

"Fuck that. Never met a man who played shit cool, who actually got what they wanted out of life."

KAREN RENEE is the author of the Riot Motorcycle Club, Beta, and O-Town series of books. She once crunched Nielsen ratings data but these days she brings her imagination to life by writing books. She has wanted to be a writer since she was very young, but it's taken the last twenty plus years for her to amass enough courage and overall life experience to bring that dream to life. Some of those life experiences came from the wonderful world of advertising, banking, and local television media research. She is a proud wife and mother, and a Jacksonville native. When she's not at the soccer field or cooking, you can find her at her local library, the grocery store, in her car jamming out to some tunes, or hibernating while she writes and/or reads books.
