Review:
Aurora finally has the hearts of the men who had tormented her for months. The men who had been so dead set on making her life absolute hell until she left them in pieces, were now falling all over themselves to protect her. And the girl definitely needs protecting. Between the toxic classmates who want to bully her into leaving due to her father's murderous career, her father on the prowl once more, and a greater evil starting to harass one of her men with his traumatic past, she could use all the help she could get. Paxton was finally starting to come around to her and then the videos started showing up of his mother's murder. Paxton is willing to throw his entire future away in order to find and end the people who seemed to have pulled the strings behind his mother's murder. Perhaps the people involved were closer to him than he ever imagined. Can Aurora and her protective men protect each other from the forces that want to see them each bathed in blood?
It was refreshing to get a bit more substance behind Paxton. He was always my favorite because he didn't seem to want to hurt Aurora as much as the others. If anything he had a bit of a white knight personality where he hated to see women in pain. He couldn't stand to see Aurora suffer and that was what had initially bonded them together. I always had a fondness for him so seeing him push Aurora away when he started to spiral was painful for me to watch. I knew Aurora would not let him abandon her completely, she is made of stronger stuff than that, but I wanted to smack him around just as badly as the other guys wanted to.
It seems the authors are starting to devote different books to each of the guys so we get a deeper appreciation for the men overall. First with Remington with his father tormenting his siblings and sister, then Stellan with finding out what happened to his sister, and now Paxton and the true story behind his mother's death. I am anxious to see if the next book is about Cain a bit more because he definitely seems the biggest enigma of all.

I am starting to appreciate the books a lot more in this series than I had at first. I look forward to seeing what happens in the series finale!
