Three hours later, Holly and Cupid emerged from the woods. Her legs were achy, and the heels of her feet were sore. She anticipated stripped off her boots and soaking in a hot bubble bath. Cupid, on the other hand, seemed unfazed, trotting along happily as if he were just getting started.

When Cupid took off at a run, Holly barely had the energy to call after him. Luckily, she noticed Nick's truck parked in front of her place. He must have just arrived, and he seemed surprised to see her as he climbed out the driver's side.

"Hey." Holly waved as she came closer.

"Hi. Where have you been?" He kissed her on the forehead.

"I needed some air."

"I tried to call you. It's been three hours."

She grimaced. "I needed a lot of air."

He tilted his head. "Everything okay?"

She wrapped her arms around him. "Everything is perfect now."

On her tiptoes, she leaned in for a kiss. His lips were soft against hers, and a fluttering sensation spread in her stomach.

She didn't want the kiss to end, but there were still things to do before her bridal shower.

"What are you doing today?" she asked, continuing to hold on to him.

"Picking u my tux."

"Ooh, exciting."

"But first, I have to take care of some details for the Christmas festival."

"Sounds good. I need to get ready for the bridal shower. But first, I think a soothing bath is necessary."

He lifted one brow. "Well, I know where I'd rather be, but I've got to uphold my reputation as a responsible coordinator."

Holly released a breathy laugh. "Such a good boy."

"Yeah, well, I've kind of let my to-do list fall to the wayside since we've been dealing with all these wedding plans."

"Do I sense a bit of regret?" she teased.

He tugged her nearer. "Not a chance." He kissed her once more, deeply, before pulling away. "See you later?"

"You can count on it."

"Enjoy your bath. And your shower."
