Synopsis:
I took some hard hits, but now it's time to strike back. Marco Tesoro wanted a fight, and a fight is what he's gonna get. The guy just doesn't know when to stop. First he sent hitmen after me. Now he blew up my mother fucking house. No one gets to pull that kind of shit and live--a fact he'll be finding out soon enough. In the aftermath of his attacks, we're struggling to recover, dealing with the FBI, and adjusting to having Cameron back in my life But there's no better time to remind the world who Two Tricks really is. At the top of my hit list are the Mad Dogs, a rival MC crew. They're the movers and dealers for Marco's drugs business. Let's see how he feels when I cut off his arms and then realizes I'm just barely getting started. My men are behind me one-hundred percent, even as they work through their own issues--including the new man no one saw coming. None of that will stop them from riding into war with me though, because it will take all of us to topple this crime lord's empire, one piece at a time.

Review:
Dax was already on the hunt for the Mad Dog crew and the Cartel but after watching her home be blown up right before her eyes she was out for blood. Recovering from a gun shot wound and trying to manage her love life and crime syndicate she already has a lot on her plate but, much like dessert, there is always room for revenge. Her plan is to take out the Mad Dog Crew which will hopefully hobble the Cartel so she can finish them off. With the help of an old boyfriend who is now an FBI agent she has just enough room to get away with whatever she needs to do to make it happen. But how will she navigate her harem when she considers adding another to their already astounding numbers? Will Dax survive her plots for revenge and her foray into her group of lovers?

I was middle of the road with the first two books in this series and while they weren't terrible they weren't something that held my attention all that well either. This last one I felt like I was slogging through trying to finish it just so I could move on. The fact that I took more and more time away from reading to avoid going back to the book, I knew I needed to just tap out of the series. There was something about Dax and her men that just didn't resonate with me. It felt like it was really forced and the men were not the alpha males that they should have represented. They were led around by their belt buckle by their one woman wrecking ball of a girlfriend. She decided what was going to happen and they just had to fall in line and pray she didn't get mad at them for whenever her mood started to turn.

I am sure that it would have been glorious to watch Dax take down her enemies and find happiness with her men but I just couldn't keep going when I have so many other books I need to get to that I have already put off to try to complete the Hidden Empire Dax Trilogy. Maybe I will revisit the book and series at a later time, but for now I need to let this book go and try to find something that will hold my attention a lot more.
