"Get down," Richard snapped, not exactly pushing the girl away but urging her off of his lap and down under the desk with an insistence that brokered no argument from her. Then, heart pounding like a drum in his chest, he turned back to the screen.
The Skype video call was getting close to timing out.
Resisting the urge to glance down to the girl's hideaway, he accepted the video call, then forced a broad smile. "Hey Al."
His wife's avatar minimized, and Alice's smoky gaze met his.
