As predicted, when they pulled up to the movie theater, some girls were walking by the car as Liam got out.
"Nice car, handsome," one of them said, smiling brazenly at him.
"Thank you," was all he said with a faint smile.
Sophie was standing behind him and didn't see his face. All she heard was his answer and when he turned around, she could barely contain her anger.
"What?" He asked confused.
"Do you not see me standing here, Liam?"
"Of course I do, baby. What are you talking about?"
"You were flirting while I was standing right here."
"No, I was not," he insisted, raising his voice. "All I gave her was a fake-ass smile and thanks her. I was not flirting with her."
"I know what I saw, Liam."
"Then you need to get your damn eyes checked because I was not flirting, Soph." She turned to get back to the car, but he stopped her, grabbing her from behind and placing his head on her shoulder. "I'm sorry for raising my voice at you. I shouldn't have done that. I don't want to fight with you, okay? Let's just go and watch the movie and spend some time together just the two of us. Can we do that, please?"
