Their forbidden attraction couldn't be denied.

Can one ride turn lust into love?

Delilah "Doll" Reklinger has never been in danger before. As the only child of Roundman, Haywood's Hellions motorcycle club president, she has always been protected.

When a threat to Roundman's club gets too close to his precious doll, he does the only thing he can think of--sends her away until his enemy is in the ground.

Talon "Tripp" Crews lives his life from one ride to the next. As the Catawba Hellions motorcycle club chapter president, he doesn't hesitate to answer Roundman's call for help.

One ride across the country sounds simple enough.

One ride tempted by a forbidden desire is far from easy.

One ride changes everything for everyone.

Review:
Oh, yes. Another motorcycle club read. Are you noticing the obsession yet? I promise to change it up... eventually. Hey, I enjoy domineering dudes in my reading material I guess. I am not even sure how I stumbled across this read but it was in my iPad's library and in my mission to clear out some of the ebooks on my devices, this one was the next up. Not going to lie, I also thought Chelsea Camaron was my beloved Chelsea M. Cameron so I had big, big hopes for this book.

Delilah aka "Doll" has loved growing up in a motorcycle club with her father as a founding member. She feels safe with all the strong men surrounding her determined to keep her safe as if she were their own daughter, niece, or sister. She worked as a receptionist for one of her father's many businesses and that is where she found herself in trouble. One day, a dark figure and his beaten waif of a woman come storming into the office like a demon bent on retribution. Unable to help herself, Doll attempts to help the scared female in the man's company but this in turn sets his sights on Doll. Threats roll in and fear for Doll's safety radiates through the MC. Doll's father determines she is to go on a ride with some outside chapter members to make her harder to pin down by the men wanting her dead. It just so happens her traveling partners are her best friend and fellow MC Princess, Sass, and the biker of her dreams. Not only does she have to keep herself safe but also find a way to resist the sexy man she is pressed up against day in and day out.

Talon aka "Tripp" is used to using women for his own pleasure and discarding them as fast as they come into his life. He figures Doll to be much the same for him. Angering her protective father is not worth a quick bang and the ensuing awkwardness of continuing the ride with the woman he can't escape. Little does Tripp know that Doll is unlike all the other clingy broads he is used to. She doesn't want his property cut. She wants a fun time full of hot sex and friendly conversation. This peaks Tripp's interest and he finds himself growing increasingly fond of Doll to the point of fearing the loss of the heart he didn't know still beat within his chest. But her safety and his role in his MC has always been his world... until his one ride with Doll.

The relationship between Tripp and Doll was frustrating. They kept fighting their attraction to each other and the subsequent feelings they eventually develop. It was irritating because, yes, her father may not like it, but would he deprive his daughter of happiness? Probably not. Her father also seems very in tune with what is going on around him. I am pretty sure he could recognize the attraction before he even ordered them to take a ride together. The relationship was unnecessarily difficult and the drama of the man hunting Doll was an afterthought.

I can't enjoy books that focus completely on the romance and forget to develop the stressor that pushed the couple together. There should have been a climax that incorporated the man threatening Doll's life but instead that never came. It made me feel like I was constantly holding my breath waiting for the 'sitch to go down and I never got to let that breath out. The book wrapped up extremely quickly and I just wasn't as impressed as I was with the beginning of the book. Seems it was rushed to be completed and some of the sparkle was forgotten.

In conclusion, the book was not a dud. It also wasn't something I set aside with a grin of contentment. One Ride was a slow burn that cooled off before it even started to smoke.
