Synopsis:
All I wanted is for my little sister Della to be safe and happy. And maybe, in brief stolen moments, I dreamed of a happy ending for myself with a brown-eyed man. That hope was turned into sharp, bright fear. There's only survival now.

I'm the daughter of a controlling and cruel billionaire, so I understand about power. But I find myself fighting anyway. I find myself testing them.

I have claws and I bite. I'm not going down without a fight.

It's like I have a death wish.

Review:
Landry has landed herself in some hot water. After coming face-to-face with her father's monster all over again, she has escaped his clutches only to be captured once more by a different type of monster. And this one is a triple threat. The man she thought was one person with several personalities was actually triplet men who have each developed a connection with her. Scout, Sully, and Sparrow all want nothing more than to protect Landry and her young sister, Della. But are they going to be able to keep their own made men brethren from learning that they have taken the two girls in and are determined to never let them go? Or will Landry's evil father come for them with his claws sharpened and ready to pull them right back into his hold?

This is one of the few reverse harems that I have actually gotten to witness a bit of a struggle dealing with the whole sharing thing. The guys eventually get there but they still struggle to not want to singularly possess Landry. Her sass keeps them in check and makes the sharing a bit more tolerable but it was interesting to see those growing pains within the ranks. Normally the men just accept the whole sharing aspect without much fanfare.

I had a hard time really deciding who was my favored of the twins. That was until I saw the personality of Scout start to come out. He was very straightforward and almost comical with it. He would say random things that were just straight off the cuff hilarious and made me smile even while Landry wanted to strangle him. He was also the most "touch-her-and-die" centric of the brothers. Sparrow was right there with him, but Scout took the prize. I liked that about him. He would sacrifice anything for Landry and that was very apparent.

I struggled to really enthrall myself with the story however. I liked the brothers and Landry but it felt like everything was very rushed. If the books had possibly been a trilogy then maybe the author would have had a bit more breathing room to stretch out the details and also flesh out the characters more fully. She did what she could with the limited space she was allowed, but I feel that I would have enjoyed the books a lot more if the drama and action was a little slower paced. It made the story feel forced and the character's relationships feel far to quick to make it seem real in any capacity. It all felt very artificial and splenda where I wanted the full sugar rush.

I love K. Webster and I think she can produce some really insanely good books but this duet missed the mark in a lot of ways. If the series would have been longer to give her time to work through the characters in more detail then I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more. At the end, I was just kind of anxious to get to the end and move on. Which is something I never want to experience when reading a series.
