Series: Butterfly Witch #1
Publication date: January 24th, 2022
Synopsis:
Imogen Taylor: Artist. College dropout. Gamer. Screwup.
I had big plans for art school in California, but when the best mom in the world--mine--needed help, I came home to Arbolito, Arizona instead. I even got my old high school job back, making smoothies at the Desert Freeze... in winter.
So, yeah, by day, my life is a cold, tropical-hued hell. But at night, I escape reality by plugging into my favorite video game, Legendelirium, to become a powerful, sexy witch, going on epic quests while vanquishing baddies.
Until a cute guy from my gaming world shows up at work, gives me the worst kiss ever, and my reality and fantasy lives get blended by purple goo laced with lethal, nanorobotic technology.
Now, I've got powers--strange, witchy ones. Scary people are after me, and I don't know who trust. And, get this. Somehow, it's up to me to defeat them, or it's game over.
Enter the fast, fun, urban fantasy adventure of the BUTTERFLY WITCH series, where magic and science become one--mostly accidentally.
* This is a standalone first book in the brand-new BUTTERFLY WITCH series. Contains swearing, some intense action scenes (low gore), super-slow-burn romantic interest (also low gore), and does not end on a cliffhanger--but, yeah, there's more to come! *

Excerpt
Opening my gloved palm, I stared at my hand.
Dread pooled in my belly.
I took off the glove. Turned my hand over.
Purple slashed across my hand. Now that I examined the hue more closely, it was a little deeper than the pomegranate freezie mix was. My skin had not been stained by freezie mix. No such luck. Something had fallen off the shelf, broken open inside the mixer, and seeped into me when I'd cut my hand on the mixer bar.
I'd been infected with something--some kind of energy goop?--being developed by BantaMatrix. And then I'd gone and flaunted my wound all around the valley.
My phone chirped. I looked at the screen.
Tell no one.
With my pulse slamming wildly through my veins, I checked my rearview mirror--nothing--before typing. Who is this?
My phone chirped again before I finished. Live your life as if nothing is different for now.
That was hilarious.
Too late, I tapped back. Dude just tried to kill me.
I stared at the three dots of doom, then my phone chirped again. I didn't try to kill you. But with the way you drive, I'm surprised you didn't wreck your car and kill both yourself and other drivers. You are a menace. Your license should be revoked.
What do you want from me? I tapped out and then stared, holding my breath, at the three dots.
I want to talk. Don't experiment. I'll come find you when I'm done here. And for Christ's sake, observe the speed limits. And stop signs.
My brain was buzzing. You're really not going to kill me? I typed again. Had to be sure.
Go home. I repeat: tell no one. When I'm done here, I'll come for you.
